Of Course!

It figures that when I am finally ready to get a video of Emily watching the opening of a fave show she doesn't perform completely.  Usually she will tap her feet, clap, bark, sing, and yell "SHOW" at the end - just as Jack, Mary, and Mel do on TV - without my prompting.  I am sharing it anyway because the newest addition is the singing and she did do that!  I just think it is hilarious - she is really interacting with things like this now.  She also sings along with songs on her Kindermusik CD.  I love it!

(In this video you needed a little prompting but you started clapping with the music and then singing along.  Your face while you were singing was too cute and hilarious.  Always full of expression!)

*If you aren't familiar with the show - they sing "dum diddy dum dee dum dee dum day" over and over and over (the whole time Emily is singing) 

Home Again Home Again...

Saturday morning we were on our way back home.  Before getting in the car, Emily and Daddy did a little reading.

We pulled out again at about 9AM but this time pulled in at about 3:30!!  Yahoo!!!  I really don't think I could have handled another 9 hour trip.  I was soooo sleepy and every time I would close my eyes Emily would say, "hi Mama!"  I thought that she would fall asleep many times but didn't close her eyes until we were about 5 miles from home.  OF COURSE!  When we got inside, Emily decided she would go night night on the floor.

But really she was just playing.

To celebrate the short drive home we went out to get our Christmas tree!  Emily was pretty excited to see her old friends...

However, unlike last year, Emily was running around A LOT!

That is, until she stopped to hug a tree.

When we were about to leave the nice man came over and said he had a surprise for Emily. Snow!

She was excited that it was falling on me too and came running over...

but then she decided that it actually concerned her a little to see all of that strange stuff on me.

I swore I would not be in a picture this year (I had only planned on a road trip that day after all) but how could we NOT take one with the snow?

So far Emily has done pretty well with the tree and other Christmas decor but there will be more on that later...  

Post Thanksgiving Festivities

We didn't have any big plans for Friday but still enjoyed a day of big fun.  Daddy went to the club for a workout in the morning and Mama went out for a little shopping during nap but Emily spent the entire day at the house.  She spent some quality time with Great Grandma Velda and her cousins inside...

and of course had some great fun outdoors too.  There was a lot of running, 

swinging,

sliding,

wild wagon riding,

hugs,

firewood gathering,

and even a little quiet time.

That is until we took our annual family pajama pics (note Emily's smile) both cute...

and silly.

Game time!

We ended the day with another fire.  This time we had the makings for smores!  Yum!

I bet you wouldn't believe that Emily slept really well that night - and the whole trip for that matter!  (Okay, not in the car.  But beggars can't be choosers!)

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving day started with a battle...

and ended with a splash!

In between, there was some fun with cousins...

a family walk...

a failed photo op with Mama (so close!)...

a great meal...

and a warm fire.

We had a wonderful day - one that made us feel really thankful for our many blessings, including family of course!

We were also thankful for such a fun place to stay and play... Uncle Reagan, Aunt Sarah, Lauren, Cole, and Cooper just moved into this great house two weeks ago. It was the perfect place for the holiday!
