This afternoon Emily was invited to celebrate her friend Stirling's 2nd birthday. (Stirling was in Emily's swim classes last fall and his mom is the one who has been including us in her playgroup.) It was a circus themed party and Emily went as (a loose interpretation of) a "tightrope walker." When we arrived at the party Emily was REALLY excited!
As we walked up we spied some ponies and Emily had to say hello...
before making her grand entrance.
She paused a moment to enjoy the bubbly welcome...
and once inside, she found Fredy the balloon man who rattled off every balloon design in his repertoire. It took a while... 
but she settled on a crazy hat and then sat back to watch him work.
Once properly adorned for the festivities we hit up the cotton candy man,
and the petting zoo. (Boo, we missed the pony rides.)
Before long we were called to sing to Stirling...
and grab our own cupcakes - which Emily did without hesitation.
After the sugar had settled in nicely, Emily took time to burn some of it off with a ride...
and evened it out with some salty popcorn from the popcorn man.
On the way out she got a fun little bell and rang it all the way to the car.
It was a good afternoon - Happy 2nd Birthday, Stirling!
That party looks over the top fun! OK, Emily's outfit...think I can borrow it? Come one! I haven't asked in a really long time. That fluffy tutu skirt ROCKS!

What a fun time!! Birthday parties were never that cool when I was a kid...nor when my kids were younger!! (I mean, we had "themes" but...) I bet Emily had such fun...did you make her skirt?

That seems like an expensive party for a 2 year old!! Fun, but I guess that's what people do in Cali?? Makes me feel pretty cheap...
