A Message from Emily Rose

Well, yesterday we left for our vacation at Mimi and Papa's timeshare. When we arrived I was all smiles... and made sure to check out everything.

But before long I tried to break out and hit the pool!

Finally all of the stars aligned and I was on my way with Daddy and Victoria...

boy was it good to see the water!

I didn't waste any time and jumped right in!!!

I had a great time tickling Victoria's feet,

swimming along like a big shot,

and flying.

That's my favorite actually!

We are here for a week and there will be plenty more pool time and other fun thrown in but if I don't keep you totally up to date just forgive me... I am on vacation after all!

Fun: The Beach

Another part of our fun, of course, is the beach! 
This first time we were on a scouting trip and we found a stretch of beach we like along the train tracks.
Emily likes to watch them go by - but this particular time she almost ripped my head off.  As it approached it had to round a curve and looked as though it was going to run right into us. 
We went back the next time for a quick photo op with her Texas shirt on... 

and getting a good one was easier said that done.

Unfortunately, before we left I had to go visit this guy...
because one of these...
was in my foot.
I am allergic. 
I had a couple of groggy days on Benadryl and then a week of swollen ITCHY-ness.  Ugh - just thinking about it makes me itch.

Last Saturday was the perfect time to go as a family to build sand castles.  Emily was pretty excited...
about all of her sand toys.
It was a cool, overcast morning ... 
but we made Emily's first sand castle...
and she even went in the water.  


Surprisingly enough, this was the first time Emily has been in the Pacific in a bathing suit.  Every other time has been a 'run in the water, get your feet and legs wet' experience.
She LOVED it...
and didn't want to go home.

Boy do we love the beach!!!!!

Morning Conversation

I had to come type this up right away.  It is my conversation with Emily when I picked her up out of bed.  I love having a spontaneous conversation with responses that I don't have to script for her.  She is getting sooo big!

  

me: "Good morning, Emily."

E: "Good morning, Mama.  How are you?"

me:  "I'm good, thank you.  How are you?"

E:  "I'm good.  Did you have a good sleep?"

me:  "Well, yes, I did... did you have a good sleep?

E:  "Uh- huh."

Then I told her that I had a surprise for her because Daddy came home while she was sleeping and she was VERY excited to see him.  She said, "Good morning, Daddy!  Did you have a good sleep?"

Fun: Family and Friends

Along with our fun at the park we have had some fun with family and friends. On the 26th, the first Saturday in our new house, we had our first (aside from those that arrived with us) guests. Aunt Patty and Uncle Roger came down as well as Mike, Pat, and their grandson Noah. None of them live really close to us but are a lot closer now than they were before!


Emily and Noah first met last September and they wasted no time getting re-acquainted.
They had great fun together being sprinkled by the fountain,
checking in on the duck family,
and picking flowers.
They were also earning their dinner with a little yard work.


Emily appreciated having Noah's help outside...
before they went in to tackle the trains.
It was about that time that Emily opened her birthday gift from Uncle Roger and Aunt Patty - a beach cover up! Perfect!
Noah thought it was pretty snazzy too.
As they say, all good things must come to an end...
but not before a GROUP SHOT!
"Farewell Noah, come back and visit! Oh, and bring your cousin Jack too!"
Then, just like social butterflies we spent Sunday afternoon at Uncle Kevin and Aunt Patty H's house! The burgers were DELISH...
the company was great...
and the fun to be had was all over.

Emily had a blast swimming in the pool and really loved the "boat." So, since we were invited, and they live so close, we might be spending some more time floating around over there. :)
