Another part of our fun, of course, is the beach!

This first time we were on a scouting trip and we found a stretch of beach we like along the train tracks.

Emily likes to watch them go by - but this particular time she almost ripped my head off. As it approached it had to round a curve and looked as though it was going to run right into us.

We went back the next time for a quick photo op with her Texas shirt on...

and getting a good one was easier said that done.

Unfortunately, before we left I had to go visit this guy...

because one of these...

was in my foot.

I am allergic.

I had a couple of groggy days on Benadryl and then a week of swollen ITCHY-ness. Ugh - just thinking about it makes me itch.
Last Saturday was the perfect time to go as a family to build sand castles. Emily was pretty excited...

about all of her sand toys.

It was a cool, overcast morning ...

but we made Emily's first sand castle...

and she even went in the water.

Surprisingly enough, this was the first time Emily has been in the Pacific in a bathing suit. Every other time has been a 'run in the water, get your feet and legs wet' experience.

She LOVED it...

and didn't want to go home.

Boy do we love the beach!!!!!
(there were two videos of you posted that showed you running and squealing in the water as well as sitting in the waves and being knocked all around - all while you laugh)
I can't quite tell in your picture- is that a bee stinger? It's a wonder that tiny little thing on that big old beach would find the bottom of your foot. That reminds me of a certain tiny shard of glass in Grandma's kitchen that met the same fate. Other than that it looks like you will be getting in some good use of that beach. Makes me want to move again. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Maybe some water shoes for next time??
A California girl for sure! I am amazed at how much Emily loves the beach. The video of her sitting in the surf is adorable.
ReplyDeleteWow, I want to live at the beach! It looks like you guys are going to have so much fun! Also awesome for photography, every picture is beautiful! Your poor poor foot. I agree, what the heck is that thing? Good thing you know that you're allergic to it, yikes. Looks like it hurt!
ReplyDeleteGlad Emily is making good use of her computer.:)
ReplyDeleteSorry about your foot. Bee?
Watch out! Pretty soon she'll be surfing. Glad y'all are having so much fun.

Very cute videos of Emily in the surf. Glad that she enjoys it so much. Sorry to see you got stung. Thank goodness the lifeguard could help you.

I loved Emily's giggles as the water "tickled" her - how precious! I can't believe that is your backyard (basically). To live so close to the beach - WOW! And so sorry about your sting - looks miserable!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you guys are having a wonderful time in California! How fun to be able to go to the beach whenever you want!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to run in the surf with that precious little girl!
ReplyDeleteThis is Pure DELIGHT!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great pix and videos!
