Last Week...

As you all know, last week we were on vacation at Mimi and Papa's timeshare near San Diego.  Fun fact, they have been owners for 21 years and our family has been going for the past 20 years!  Whoa!  Once our family started to grow we began going every other year so we could get two condos for one week and spread out.  

A n y w a y... our week began with a family reunion of sorts (decent size group but I lack pictures so here is a small snapshot).

But when it was just us we did a lot of this...



























Mimi even got to try driving a golf cart for the first time (how is that possible?)...
and maybe Aunt Angie too (?) when we crashed the guys' golf game.
By the end of the week we had had so much fun that we were wiped out.

Gone Fishing

On Friday morning we had a little family fishing trip at the resort.

Emily was very excited and was ready to get started right away!!
She was an excellent fisher-girl.





We got the impression that the fish had been through the drill a few times and were excellent at removing the bait without being hooked - but eventually we were able to catch this guy.

He wasn't very big but I loved him.

Emily was loving him too (from a short distance)... 

until he wiggled and then FORGET IT!  She about crawled over Mimi's head trying to get away from him and Daddy was left to remove the hook.  (Thanks Paul!  I catch, you release - what a team.)
I ended up catching another one a few minutes later and Emily sought refuge in Daddy's arms immediately.
Which left Papa in charge of the release.  :)
Maybe we will try fishing again in a few years...

Crash Down?

One of Emily's favorite games of the vacation was "crash down."  Well, at least we think that is what she was calling it.  She liked it so much that the morning after she was adamant that she and Daddy wake Uncle Ryan and Uncle Adam so she could play with them again.  It was a little like Hide 'n Seek.

No matter where they hid she would find them, take them by the hand,

and march them outside.
It was then that the "crash down" happened.  See for yourself...

(In this video you find Uncle Adam hiding and sipping his coffee and take both of them by the hands and "throw" them out off the back patio and into the grass.  They are very dramatic and you laugh.)

They are always good sports and Emily adores her uncles.  She has watched this video at home about 10 times and still laughs really hard every time Uncle Adam crashes and Uncle Ryan races past the camera.  I think they better be ready come November...
