On July 31st we had a block party. It was the same day as Everett's Sip 'n See and by the evening Emily and I were the only ones able to make it out there. I forgot to take my camera but since I had my phone I did snap a few pictures. First, several of the kids were roasting marshmallows.
Marje was kind enough to help Emily roast one too...
and then Emily made a s'more and gobbled it up!

Emily has a friend named Tyler who was trying REALLY hard to get a kick ball game going.
For a little while he was letting Emily practice and teaching her the rules...
like where to go after you kick the ball!
After MUCH effort Tyler was able to gather the troops - there was hope that a kick ball game might work out!!
But after a few minutes Emily could see that it would still be a while, so she found something else to occupy her time.
Even testing out her skills as a mimic.
In the end, the kick ball game never really got going and Emily got tired of waiting.
It was a fun evening out in the street and Emily got chocolate so it was a major WIN in her book!
Boy, Emily, you sure are lucky to live in such an awesome neighborhood with block parties and nice kids to play with. Too bad the kick ball game never got organized enough...there's always next time. At least you got chocolate. Score!
ReplyDeleteSweet Marge, love her hair! What a fun party, wish I'd had the strength to join you. Would have loved to see a kick ball game too with that collection of enthusiasts!!

YAY! So happy to see Emily and mama enjoying the neighbors!
ReplyDeleteNeighbor block parties are so much fun! Looks like Emily loved it, even without kickball. She even got to enjoy a s'more!
