Last Thursday it was our turn to host Jack The Bird and Emily was pretty excited!
You might notice that his name card just says "Jack," but Emily always uses his first middle and last name - Jack The Bird.As you can imagine, Everett was also quite excited to have a birdie in the house...
and when Daddy got home that night, Emily didn't waste any time introducing him to Jack The Bird.
Wouldn't you know it, he got his toenail tuck in the hanging ball toy while visiting...and after I helped him release it, he kept his left foot tucked in close for a bit. Ouch.
(I say "wouldn't you know it" because my first parakeet, Turq, got his toenail stuck inside his eye socket one time. The distressed flapping was quite familiar - thankfully Dad/Papa took care of that one back when.)
On Friday, we stopped by a pet store and got Jack The Bird a treat...
which Emily happily showed him upon our return.
During his visit, Jack The Bird was never left alone for long...
having the same visitors stopping by constantly.
But, yesterday, it was time for Jack The Bird to return to school.
So, with his supply pack on her back, Emily got him all ready to travel...
and said good-bye.
Or, maybe more like "see you soon" since we were just taking BOTH of them to school. :)

Such a good caretaker...and such good attention-givers! :)
ReplyDeleteSchool pets are the best! You are so lucky to have had Jack The Bird as a weekend visitor, Emily, and he was so lucky to have had such a great birdsitter. Looks like your little brother loved having him, too.
ReplyDeleteAli is right! Jack The Bird was lucky to have his vacation at Emily's house! I hope he told everyone about the treat you got for him!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
The Nickel and The Penny appreciate Emily's insistence on using Jack The Bird's full name :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Jack The Bird was sad to leave such a great house. Hopefully, he will be returning soon.
