Last Week...

On Friday, Feb. 25th, Emily and I picked up Mimi after she had spent the week in northern California with family and friends. During her visit Emily watched "movies" on Mimi's computer,
they played stickers,
read books,
and Mimi helped take pictures of me, Emily and Bittwo.

Papa flew in to join Mimi on Tuesday evening, March 1st. While he was here both Mimi and Papa got to watch swimming lessons,

(complete with princess time after her shower, still at swim)
and help assemble the beginning pieces of Emily's big girl room - coming in April.

Papa and Emily also had some fun on their own - they bought a hummingbird feeder and made the food together,

carried it outside,

and hung it up.

After that they just had to wait and watch...

before - HOORAY!

Papa and Emily also spent some time in the backyard drawing,
(okay, so maybe Papa did the drawing)
and "parading" around.

While they were in town we were able to go see Aunt Patty and Uncle Roger's new (remodeled) house...
(Daddy was even able to join on his way back from San Francisco)
complete with a new hut tub...
and entirely new interior. Emily's favorite... the plywood (noisy) floors.
After seeing the "new" place we went to their rental for dinner and Emily was able to see the chinchillas. She was okay with only seeing them.

And last, but not least, we celebrated Mimi's birthday with a yummy chocolate cake...
(Emily declared in January, on Mimi's birthday, that we were going to have cake for Mimi when she came to visit so she was REALLY excited when the time finally came. She was not, however, excited to be in the center of it all... uh oh for her third birthday.)
and had some family over for dinner too!
When Emily woke up from her nap yesterday afternoon she ran to the top of the stairs and yelled, "Mimi and Papa!!" I had to tell/remind her that Mimi and Papa went home on an airplane during her nap and she said, "now I am REALLY sad." Then she proceeded to walk around the house like this...

and put on a super sad face for the camera.
So that's what we've been up to. We had a great time and always miss Mimi and Papa when they leave but this is just the beginning of our own personal "March Madness" so we won't hang our heads for too long. More visitors are on the horizon...

  2. Wowzers, what a week you had, Emily! How fun to have Mimi and Papa there for a visit (I got to visit with them, too). I especially love the hummingbird photos and can't believe you were patient enough to wait around quietly to spy an actual "diner." Sounds like you will have more visitors soon so chin up, little lady!

  4. Wow! You guys have really been busy. Congrats on capturing the hummingbird on "film". So what do they call it now, capturing it on a san disc? They're pretty fast, so good job! Love the pic of Emily before he swim lesson, looking a little mischevious. Boy, she's a pro in the water. And great pics of mama and her babies! Wow! I feel a little tired after reading and then typing. :) Oh, and can't wait to see pics of Em's big girl room!

  5. What a great visit - it made me so sad to see Emily so sad when her Mimi and Papa were gone! It's always hard to say goodbye to family! I know you have a lot more coming around the next couple of weeks so I'm sure that will keep you and Emily busy!!

  6. Emily shouldn't be sad! We had so much fun and can look forward to more in the next several months! It will be fun to have her other grands and her cousins soon too! You'll have to hang the "no vacancy" to keep us away!
    Love to love y'all!
