Last Saturday we hosted a Sip 'n See at our house for a childhood friend of mine. Before everyone showed up there were a few things to do. Daddy went to get some balloons and while there he picked up a special one for the hostess Emily so she would have her own and not be too tempted by the rest. Everyone thought it was a great idea... Emily most of all.
Then, while food prep was going on inside, Emily and Daddy tidied up the back patio a bit.
I think Emily did spend more time "directing" Daddy on the trouble spots instead of taking care of them herself.
Before too long baby Lina (born Jan. 25th) showed up with her mama, Carly and two grandmas - Luisa (L), Devon (R).
I think the party was fun for everyone...
and toward the end Emily got a chance to hold Lina for the first time!
It didn't go so well...
and didn't get much better...
until Lina could see Emily's face.
That made her quite happy!
It was a great afternoon and was time to say good-bye in no time.
Welcome, Baby Lina - there are three (maybe 4?) girls here that were SURE happy to meet you!
Awww, what a nice welcome for baby Lina! I think I saw my Mom in one or two of the pictures. Looks like Emily got in some more baby-holding practice, too. She sure is going to be a wonderful big sister!
ReplyDeleteQuite a group at your house, glad that Emily and Daddy could help each other tidy up the backyard. A very nice welcome to Lina and her family. Emily was such a big girl holding Lina, even though she cried.
