Daddy's Helicopter

As mentioned before, the kids gave Daddy a helicopter for Christmas! He had a hard time, but did manage to wait to open it until the first morning we were back home. I watched from above as he flew it around the first time...
and Emily watched from below.
But, before too long, I was watching from below as well.
Emily had so much fun chasing it around...
and feeling the downwash on her face.
There is quite a bit (of downwash) with the four blades.
Not wanting to be left out of the fun, Emily ran to get her own remote control beach buggy that Everett gave her for Christmas.

It only took a few days before Daddy and Emily were kicking it up a notch and successfully landing the helicopter in her hand.

She loved the landing AND the take off!

And when the hand was too boring, he landed it on her head and stomach.
But, that still wasn't enough. Before too long, Emily was helping to fly it...
and hooking it up for a charge...
all by herself.

To say that Emily LOVES the helicopter is an understatement (which works well, since Daddy loves to fly it). I even found a few pictures that she took with her own camera.

I think she and Everett chose a good gift for Daddy this year!

  2. If Daddy can land on Emily's hand I think I'd be confident with him piloting me around in flight! Of course, Emily would have to learn how to charge it and put the helicopter to bed!!

  3. Awesome helicopter flying, Emily! Looks like you love Daddy's gift just as much as he does. That holds true at our house, too, much to Noah's Daddy's chagrin :)

  4. The helicopter is one of our favorite toys we have at our house, too!! Just be ready, we have bought about 6 of those things...they don't last long at our house! Too many crash landings when we let the kids fly it! :)

  5. I am really impressed Emily AND jealous, I want one of those. I would fly it out on the deck with the other birdies and see if I could sneak up on one or two of them. Wouldn't that be fun?!!
