Happy Birthday to our "Baby"

Two years ago today...

Oh wait, that was at 40 wks - 5 days prior to your arrival.  Let's start again.

Two years ago today...

(that's more like it) our two became three...

when we welcomed you, our sweet angel girl.

You were immediately very aware,

and up for a party.

You LOVED to be swaddled and did until you were 6 months old.

You have the very best faces...

and are ALWAYS talking.  Usually in a very loud manner.

So at your two year mark...

You love to sing and count, you greet clerks at stores with a happy "good morning" no matter the time of day.  You love to be buried, whether that be in laundry, blankets, or pillows.  You always know where we are going based on the things you see out the window of the car.  That includes random places we don't visit every day - your memory in general is unreal!  You love letters and know most of their sounds.  You love flags - particularly the American and Texas flags.  You can spot a flag a mile away - at least it feels like that when you always ask us, "Mama(Daddy), see flag Mama(Daddy)?" as we speed down the road.

   

You like to eat things that are dry and crunchy.  You used to eat fruit but now deny all of them except for bananas and raisins - unless the fruit is freeze dried and then it is okay.  We hope that you will pick fruits up again when you realize that wet and mushy can be good.  If we put a bite of food in your mouth you will usually eat it with no issue but electing to eat it yourself is another thing.

You love to twirl and read books.  You LOVE to jump - and will jump off of anything.  You play really hard and love balls.  You especially like kicking and throwing.  You have a binky and a lovey with you every time you sleep and may never give up your sleep sack.  You have too many words to count, it would be like us counting ours.  You speak in sentences and can answer questions we might not expect you to.  

You love the zoo and would choose PetSmart over Toys R Us - you march around that store with such confidence and may soon know the employees by name.  You say "bless you" if anyone sneezes OR coughs and "excuse me" if you hear a burp.  You like to take things off of shelves or racks in the store but always know just where to put them back.  If you are told not to touch something in the store you will stand so close that your breath could fog the glass but will not actually make contact.  You will also stand with your toes at the split between the street and the driveway since you know you are not allowed to cross it.

You like to be sung to at night and have lately started to sing along "acting out" parts of the song.  You give the greatest, tightest hugs, and the biggest smiles.  You love to be tickled and your laugh could snap us out of any bad mood.  You like kisses on your owies but then get back to playing.  You love to pretend to have the hiccups or a million sneezes.  Daddy told you that Mama watches you in the video monitor so you will look right at the camera as you call from your bed, "Mama, can you hear me?"

You love bubbles and water and can spot a ladybug anytime, anywhere.  When we take out the vacuum you ask to dust.  You like to climb and so you do... on anything.  You love to watch videos of yourself on the computer and know how to start and stop them.  You can ham it up for the camera but sometimes demand "no camera" or "no pictures."  You are strong willed and have a temper.  You are very bright and surprise us every day.

You are our sweet sweet girl and angel baby.  We love you with every bit of our beings.  You will always be our number one, very best, favorite first born little girl and we hope your day is as great as you are!  Happy Birthday!
