Santa Claus

This morning we finally made our way to visit Santa at the mall.  The last time we were there he caught Emily spying on him from up above and smiled and waved at her.  Since then she has gone back and forth about whether or not she would actually sit on his lap.  This morning it was "yes" so off we went!  Things started to change a little when we got closer and she wanted BOTH of us to sit with him.  She watched very cautiously as the little girl before her talked with Santa.
When it was our turn she insisted that I carry her over at which time Santa said hello, asked her her name and if she wanted Santa to bring her any presents.  She answered all questions but felt no need to elaborate or smile.  Then he tapped the leg she was welcome to sit on and I put her down.
When she was all done Santa gave her a candy cane which she was VERY excited about!
In conclusion, the picture was okay.  She didn't smile or look particularly happy but she didn't cry or protest either.  I mean, she could have been like this kid...
Santa deserves all of those cookies we leave for him!

  3. That picture is so funny! Emily did a great job - she was so brave! I have a picture of Elizabeth at about 20 mon. with me holding her, standing next to Santa, because she would cry the second we got too close to the big guy. At least Emily is sitting on his lap!!

  8. Wow, you were certainly brave for a 2 1/2 year old, Emily! Last year Noah looked just like that kid your Mommy captured on the monitor. I hope Santa will bring you that fire truck you are asking for, especially since you sat on his lap and all :)
