How Our Weekend Began...

Last Wednesday, Emily had her nails painted at the salon for the first time in preparation for the big wedding weekend!
Once they were painted, she had to wait for me to have my fingers and toes done so we brought along her DVD player. She sat there so nicely with her hands propped up on the pad for the longest time. Then when I was finishing up, a lady took Everett out of his carrier and Emily was on high alert! She told me, "Mama, that lady has Everett. She can't keep him, he's our baby!"
She was really glad that I agreed and I caught her wiping up his drool later that afternoon - so happy that he was with us and not "that lady!"
The next morning, we were off to Texas and Emily had more DVD time. (But, it meant that she was an easy and great passenger so hooray for movies!) This was her first flight since the beginning of January, which was quite a long time considering all of her flight time last year!
She was pretty excited when we got our rental with a bench seat - she could actually TOUCH Everett. She was very helpful when he was overtired and needing a big sister to talk to him.
Then, that night we met up with some of Daddy's cousins from Nana's family. Emily liked talking to the little girls, Ella and Olivia.
This dinner gave us a chance to see a lot of family and meet a new cousin, Joshua. Daddy's cousin, Shanna, is holding him (the two girls are hers) but she is not his mama. His mama, Meredith, is hidden behind Shanna and Joshua's daddy, Toby, is just above his head in this picture... in case you couldn't see the resemblance!
I had to get a picture of the new generation of vid kids... or should I say, app kids.
Thanks for coming out to dinner everyone!
PS No, Emily did not eat her dinner pictured above. Don't be crazy.

  1. Your last line made me laugh. Good thing I wasn't eating or drinking, it would have ended up all over my keyboard!

  2. Wow, you got your fingers done for the big wedding day and everything!? Lucky girl! And I almost was going to ask Mama if you actually ATE that lovely meal in front of you before reading the last line. I stand corrected in my thoughts. Hee, hee! Can't wait to see you all dressed up for the wedding...
