Saturday: The Ceremony + The End of "Almost"

So, Saturday was the BIG event. Two...
were becoming one.
Upon arriving at the cathedral...
some people were all dressed and ready...
while others, not so much.

(I am not referring to Nana, she was lovely.)

But, in good time, Emily was all dolled up (in her Mimi made "princess dress") and ready to find the bride and her girls.
While Mimi went around photographing Uncle Ryan and all of his guys...

it was becoming increasingly likely that Emily would NOT be walking down the aisle. Then, minutes before the ceremony began she made it quite clear.
The pressure was too great, the eyes were too many. So, she and I walked down the center aisle together and took our seats so we wouldn't miss a thing.

Emily did a great job during mass. She sat quietly when I went up to read (thank goodness because she had been telling me that I wasn't going to go up and read - I was a little nervous she might share her feelings with EVERYONE as I walked up), listened intently to the homily while sitting with Mimi and Papa,
watched as the vows were said,
and the rings were blessed.
She was in awe of Aunt Mo singing Ave Maria in the balcony,
(she loved it so much that she tried to find the music for it in her hymnal)
and when it was all over, Daddy and Victoria came by our pew...
and "picked her up" to walk out.
Once outside, we found where the babies and grandpas had spent much of the mass...
before we went back in for some pictures.
Everett was pretty excited to see Emily...
and I was pretty excited to see him again.
Then he finally put on some pants.
Just in time for our family pictures on the altar.
Thankfully, Emily didn't think the pressure of posing with the wedding party was too great so she did get in some of those.

And when no one was looking, she checked out Aunt Jackie's wedding gown. There were feathers on it after all!

With the BIG event behind us, Everett again took off his pants and we gathered our things to go.
Just in time too... Emily was ready for some down time.

  2. Again- LOVE the dress!! You are smokin!! Love Everett with no pants- babies don't like the legs to be restricted with those darn clothes. Good job Emily, you know the pictures are more important than walking the aisle anyway. ;)

  10. Oh my Emily, what a beautiful princess you were indeed! We had lots of fun, and were so glad your whole family was in our wedding! Well except for Everett, but his "no pants" issue was a deal breaker. See you in 1 month!
    Love you!
