Fun: The Park

Well, we have been having a lot of fun around here in between all of the work.  First up, our fun at the neighborhood park!  Emily walked to the park for the first time on the 24th with Nana and Grandpa.
The park is around the bend (pictured below) to the left and then an immediate right - roughly a 200 yard walk.  Not bad!!!!!
That first visit, and every one since, Emily has run across the large grass space to the playscape.

She went again the next day with Grandpa and by the 27th she was an old pro, showing Mama and Daddy around.

I wandered up the walking path to the top of the hill - this is the view toward the park,
and if I rotate slightly you can see our house.  (backside of house just to left of tree)
There is lumpy grass up there...
that Emily likes to lay in...
and just "out of bounds" on the fire road you can see these beauties.
But, enough about that stuff... let's talk about tetherball.  We love tetherball!  Emily liked watching Daddy beat Mama - something about the height I think.
It was stuck up there on the bolt and reinforcements had to be brought in.

We won't talk about the next game.
Forget that Paul is taking the picture and not actually playing.  ;)
Then on the 3rd our neighborhood had some 4th of July fun planned so we followed the fire truck,
and parade...

up to the park for some fun!
It looked a little different that day...
and Emily was ready to investigate.
One thing on the top of the list... the water slide!
Eventually she got up there and two very nice teenage girls helped her up the slippery steps.  She is in front of the bikinis...
see!  All wet and happy after a long climb and FAST slide!
Besides all of those things, the park also offers bugs,
places to rest,
and even a tanning bed.
See the fun with movement and sound!

(there were three videos, first: with you bouncing in the bounce house, second: you climbing up and sliding down the big water slide at the 4th of July party, third: you hitting the tetherball around like a pro - getting hit in the head once and saying "silly tetherball!")
