Down Time

After returning, we spent the 4th doing laundry and laying low - our trip out west left us pretty worn out.  I mean, only sheer exhaustion could make this comfortable.

Then on the 5th we had many things to do - like smashing a coconut...

so we could shave the insides for a little birthday treat.

Our friend Natascha's birthday is on Cinco de Mayo and nothing says "happy birthday" like a big hat...

and maracas!

After nap we headed down to Tascha's house to sing her a little birthday song and deliver our treat.

I think she was impressed...

and so was her daughter, Sonja.

That evening daddy came home with a special treat for Emily... ladybugs! 

Then on the 6th we hopped in the car for a long drive out of town... 

Here we go again!
