The Downfall

So what happens when you travel, go to bed late, and get up early - all while your body battles allergies??  You catch something that really makes you sick!
Yep, poor little girl went to bed Monday night with a low fever and by Tuesday at lunch she was 102.  After a four hour nap she was still boiling hot and looked like this...
I asked her if she had an owie and she said, "uh-huh."  Then I asked her where her owie was and she said "chin" but was pointing at her throat (I guess we need to work on "neck") which is not one of her typical owie locations.
It was about this time that I checked in on Cooper's condition (since he was feverish this past weekend) and found out that on Monday he was diagnosed with strep.  BUMMER!
I didn't tell Emily... she was finally starting to cool down and enjoy her show.
Anyway, since it was ten to five on Tuesday I decided I would wait until the morning to call the doctor.  We got an appointment at 8:30 Wednesday morning and I dragged my very sick daughter over to his office.  This is a little bit of how Emily was acting...
(In this video you are jumping around the room, not looking sick at all.  Plus, when someone says something down the hall, you respond, "hello?")
Whatever Emily, make me look like an overreactive mother!  She was talking up a storm, thanking the nurses for holding the door, jumping off the scale, showing everyone the cupcake on her shorts and requesting stickers.  She did have a pretty red throat but her culture came back negative and she hasn't been running a fever all day.
Regardless of how it "looked" at the doctor, I am glad she is feeling better and hope she stays this way - move along nasty virus...

  2. Oh Man, I know how you feel, it's terrible when your babies are sick. Glad to hear she is better, I think the cure for all childhood illness is just: Call the Doctor! They get better immediately!

  3. Poor sick baby! I agree with Amy- the second I decide it's time to make an appointment, ta da! Whatever it was, glad it is gone. It is so sad to see her slumped on the couch.
P.S. Does she call ladybugs "beebugs"?? That's what Nicolas calls them and we just love it :)

  7. Glad she's on the mend and that it wasn't strep. I always worry when there's a fever involved.
