Recently Emily started talking more and more about tee-tee and poo-poo so on Saturday, the 14th, we headed out to get her a potty and some big girl underwear.

Out of the 5 potties Emily chose this one.

When we got home she was checking it out, practicing the flush...

and doing some reading.

The next day she had success - tee-tee - and enjoyed the song that the potty sang to her. (Although, she did rocket right off of it when the song started.) Then there was nothing until Wednesday when she announced "it came out!" - poo-poo. We were all very excited and she helped me flush it away in the big toilet.

So, there you have it. We officially have a potty in our house that she is free to use but no pressure and no rewards. We really don't think she is totally ready and so we are not going to force it. When she is ready... we are ready. We hope.
WOO HOO!!!! Way to go Emily!!! Poo-poo in the potty is a BIG step!! Nicolas hasn't gotten that far yet but he "tee-tee's" a couple times a day. I think she will be in big girl underwear really soon.
ReplyDeleteYou are soooo lucky that she is showing some interest! This potty business is definitely not for the weak. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo! Girls are usually easier and poo poo is a very big step! Good luck!
