Full of Fun Friday

As you know, we were off to visit Nana and Grandpa at their new house. You have seen the house before but last week they officially moved in, selling and leaving their home of 26 years. Mimi graciously let me ride up front to avoid any sickness and squeezed into the back with Emily for the 3+ hour drive north. As if the car seat wasn't big enough - Emily extended her legs and took up as much room as possible.As soon as we arrived, Emily gave Grandpa his "surprise." A basket of his favorite goodies, a couple of toys, and two leis - Friday happened to be the FIRST day of his retirement!!! Yay for Grandpa AND Nana... we think a visit to California is in order! ;) After a tour of the new digs WITH furniture and some playtime with the trains, that Emily adores, we were off to the pool.

Then, after her nap, Emily asked for the babushka dolls. 

She played with them...

for a very long time.

But, she wouldn't forget about the Boom Ball game that was in Grandpa's basket and his promise that she could play with it after the pool.

As our visit wound down Emily decided that she must spend a little time hiding in a fort of pillows... (ever since the beach house she wants to hide in the pillows)

and busting out of it.

Alas, it was time to bid farewell and take one last picture...

except, Emily insisted, she had to visit the flowers before getting in the car...

and smell them too.

Okay, so looking out at the deer was meant to be the final farewell picture...

before we set out on the road. It was 8 o'clock when we pulled away and just after 11 when we pulled into Mimi and Papa's... Emily didn't sleep a wink the whole trip. She did, however, manage to play a lot. We are tired today.
