Whoa!

I don't watch live TV. I don't watch commercials which include the "big stories" on the news each night. I don't know what is going on around me.
That being said, when I was feeding Emily breakfast this morning and happened to glance outside I saw snow in the backyard. I exclaimed, "it snowed!" to my mom and then as I went closer I noticed that it was STILL snowing! Surprise!! So, once Emily finished eating we headed outside to enjoy it all. This is what our house looked like at 8:00 this morning.
Emily loved walking around in the snow on the ground and feeling the flurries on her face.
We walked to see the neighbors...
and wandered into our backyard.
It has not stopped snowing. Really... it has not stopped snowing all day and there is no end in sight. This is what it is looking like now.
I am just hoping I will be able to fly to London tonight.

  1. What a snowfall!! Fun to play in, but hopefully not enough to mess with your flight. Fingers crossed!

  3. I'm glad to see Emily enjoyed the snow. Good for you to have boots! That was our big problem - wet feet and hands with our double socks and little mittens. I hope you got out ok tonight!! Can't wait to hear how the trip goes!

  8. I know what you mean. I was completely taken by surprise with the fact that we had snow on the ground and it was still snowing when we woke up. There was talk at school about "do you really think it will snow" but I'm usually one that doesn't believe the weathermen cause they're usually wrong. Wow! We got a lot of snow! Good think Emily had golashes. We didn't have any for Sophia and her feet got all wet.

  9. Yes! So lucky Emily's cousins live in Wichita with lots of weather like this! Those hand-me-down boots are the best! We were out again this morning in more messy sloppy snow and her feet were dry and warm at the end of the romp! Mine? Not so much! Thank you Aunt Sarah!

PS-Allison's flight made it out (eventually) and she's reunited with Paul in jolly old England!
