Second Team continues...

Emily started her day Saturday MUCH earlier than usual. She was undoubtedly sure Daddy and Mama were back and anxious to see her as early as possible!

Papa loves Malt-O-Meal too and they shared breakfast...Papa used one of her spoons?? and she read the paper a little bit
My personal philosophy is that grandparents are for spoiling, I make no apologies. We paid our dues as the bad guys, we get to take the path of least resistance, especially when our resistance is compromised by exhaustion. Papa found it easier to keep Emily in one place with TV and Puffs.
Mimi used Binky and Blue's Clues to solicit cooperation near bedtime...
Back to the snow activities that Emily couldn't get enough of. It is sad that Paul and Allison missed sharing this fun with her but we tried to capture lots of it in pictures. Note the FABULOUS snow suit Mama finally offered from London. It had been packed away (prematurely as it turned out) so she told Mimi where to find it when the snow kept calling Emily "OUTSIDE!!!" Here she and Papa built her own snowman with the thinning supply in the backyard. He wasn't winking originally.

Since there wasn't lots of snow to stomp through anymore, Emily was most captivated by throwing snowballs into the rushing water in the gutter and yelling, "bye snow!"

She found a little mound surviving in the driveway and sat on it to slide down-honest we didn't suggest it! It never occurred to us that an eight inch pile of snow could be recreational. I guess when you're her size it looked significant.

This is just a cute episode of Emily's delight in the modified snowball fight with Papa. She really wasn't interested in retaliation, the snow exploding on contact just killed her.

  1. I totally have to agree with you about being a grandparent! Even in college visiting my grandparents ment I walked on water... being with them is was always special. Emily seems to having a ball and I sure Allison and Paul are able to enjoy their trip knowing Emily is home, safe, and walking on water in her grandparents eyes!

  2. I agree! Grandparents are for spoiling. Looks like Emily has been well taken care of and it's great that Allison and Paul can actually see what's she's been up to since you've blogged it. Great job and love the snow suit.

  6. Mimi, WHAT A FANTASTIC JOB YOU DID! I love this little girl in the purple snowsuit. And, pardon my specificity, but that looks like a snowwoman to me. :)
