Breaking Out!

I was bound and determined to get out of the house on Thursday and even though Daddy was still feeling pretty puny, he agreed to come along!  So, off we went for a morning at the zoo (with Grandpa too).
Emily (who was also not back to herself) had a great time seeing the zoo just the way she is used to...

and lucky for us we got to see a lot of animals out and about.
(this picture is mostly to show Bittwo at the zoo)

While there, Emily feasted on her staples* (day four of crackers and water)...
she was kinda tired of them.
But, she did really enjoy herself while visiting the penguins.
Partly because there was a big fan blowing her face and hair...

but also because they danced for her as she moved her finger on the glass.
To round out the day, Emily spent some time with the reptiles... and really liked petting the snake.

Boy was it good to be out in the real world again!
*Emily did also eat graham crackers and dry waffles during her 6 day recovery period but doesn't really consider any of the other doctor suggested "bland foods" edible.  Hmph.

  1. So glad you got to visit your favorite zoo, Emily! Too bad everyone was still feeling a bit woozy. But you certainly made the best of it as only you can!

  2. I still get a kick out of how you lift the stoller up for Emily to see - too funny! I have never seen the penguins up close to the glass like that! You guys were there on a good day! Glad you were able to get out of the house! :)
