Christmas Day

Not so bright and early on Christmas morning Emily woke up ready to join the crowd and see if Santa had stopped by.
All she asked Santa for was a fire engine.

The hollow chocolate Santa that fit inside was a bonus...
as was the firefighter's hat.

She enjoyed her stocking a lot...
but was always drawn back to the fire engine.
Since everyone else had been up and waiting for a while we jumped right into the rest of the presents and had breakfast in between.
Emily liked helping and watching everyone open their gifts...
and received some help of her own from her new baby doll...
before it was fire engine time again. Santa hung on for a while before he crumbled and Emily discovered he was made of chocolate! All of the festivities were a bit exhausting so Emily took a few moments to be alone in her "room" (Nana's closet).
Once powered up again she was out to check out the toys that Cooper got. If it has wheels Emily is sold!
She also enjoyed the spinning Santa, and Daddy's new family board game. She did fairly well on the 4 yr old questions about animals. Later, Emily found MORE wheels! This time belonging to Cole. She was happy!

She was upstairs playing with the slot cars for well over an hour while all of kids and several adults came and went.
(Half of the time she didn't even watch her car)
Then she was back downstairs to help Daddy play Lauren's new board game...
before selecting a cookie she wanted. I told her that she would have to eat dinner first and to put it on her tray. She checked on it a lot...
but was finally rewarded when it was time for dinner!
After dinner we took our annual plaid pajama pictures with the whole family and a couple of our own.
Finally, to round out the day, Emily laid down to play one last game (Uno this time) with Uncle Reagan and the kids.
What a Merry Christmas!

  4. I KNOW the pictures are extra cute, + I can barely notice the red eyes. I agree with Emily, when your 2 it's hard to not love everything on wheels. The picture at Christmas dinner was awesome!!!
